LIC–ICICI Bank: The RBI has approved the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to increase its stake in ICICI Bank up to 9.99%.
The approval is valid for one year and is subject to compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
GDP growth: India's real GDP recorded 7.8% growth in Q1 FY2026–27, with manufacturing growth of 9.2%.
Liquidity management: The RBI continues to use Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the banking system.

World Shorebirds Day: 6 September is observed as World Shorebirds Day, aimed at raising awareness about shorebirds and the conservation of their habitats.
