The BRICS Business Forum 2026 begins today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, ahead of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit.
The 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit will be held in New Delhi on September 12–13, 2026, under India’s chairmanship.
The summit is expected to bring together leaders and representatives from around 30 BRICS member and partner countries.
Central Government offices in Delhi/New Delhi remain closed today to facilitate security and traffic management for the BRICS events.
Delhi schools are also closed today because of the BRICS Summit-related arrangements.
The Centre has extended the deadline for delivery of Custom Milled Rice (CMR) for the 2025–26 crop to November 30, 2026, amid storage pressures in Punjab.
Amitabh Dube, Country President and Managing Director of Novartis India, has been appointed President of the Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) for a two-year term beginning September 10, 2026.
